My Story
I am Kimberly Gist Miller — a Black woman, a mother, a therapist, and a seeker of joy.
For more than 30 years, I’ve sat with women as they faced the tender work of healing trauma. I’ve guided them through EMDR, IFS, somatic practices, and the long road of reclaiming self-worth.
But the truth is, my work has always been more than techniques or theories. It has been about sitting in the fire of our stories together and finding the way back to wholeness.
Curated Joy was born from that fire — from my own journey of grieving, rebuilding, and learning what it means to live soulfully aligned. Like so many of the women I serve, I have known loss. I have known what it means to carry emotional injuries that stretch back through generations. And I have also known the sacred beauty of choosing deep healing and the liberation it brings.
This is why Curated Joy exists: to be a sanctuary for Brilliant Black Women over 40 who are ready to move beyond survival into soulful living. A place where we can rest without apology, be witnessed without judgment, and rise into lives rooted in wholeness, freedom, and joy.
Here, the science of trauma healing meets the soul of Black womanhood. We honor the nervous system, the body’s wisdom, and the power of community.
We reclaim stillness and rest as resistance.
We remember that joy is not frivolous — it is essential, a birthright.
Curated Joy is my offering, but it is also my testimony. It is the space I once longed for, and now the space I am building for us collectively.
This is the work of BECOMING.
This is the work of JOY.
This is CURATED JOY.
